OCUA Employee Recognition Award
December 19, 2006 – Thomas Fcasni was presented with
the Authority’s Employee Recognition Award (ERA) during
the Authority’s Caucus Meeting on December 19, 2006 by
Chairman John Parker.
Tom, an Electrician in the Southern Division, joined
the Authority twenty-four years ago as an Electrician
Aide. In August 1988 he was promoted to the position of
Electrician. His extensive knowledge and experience in
the electrical field has been extremely valuable to the
Authority. Tom has shown outstanding effort, creativity
and expertise in designing and implementing innovative
electrical practices in the workplace. Some recent
projects include an electrical switchboard bypass and
development of a remote starting device. His ideas have
resulted in a substantial cost-savings to the Authority,
reducing manpower hours while also increasing workforce
safety.
The Ocean County Utilities Authority established an
Employee Recognition Award Program in 1995. This
program was designed to formally recognize Authority
employees for their performance over and above what is
normally expected. Since its inception, sixteen
employees have been recognized for their dedication and
initiative. In many cases their efforts have resulted
in a significant cost savings to the Authority or their
outside community achievements have been of an
outstanding nature.
