                                                         Septage & Graywater

The OCUA receives Septage and Graywater* at the Central and Southern Treatment Plants from residents or commercial establishments within the OCUA Service area. The waste must be hauled to the OCUA facility by a Septage Hauler that has a current agreement with OCUA and is in good standing. All loads must have a "manifest" that indicates the origin of the waste. This procedure was established in conjunction with the Ocean County Board of Health. Residents that have motor homes, can discharge the contents of the motor homes holding tank at either of the OCUA treatment plants free of charge as long as they show proof of residency.  *Graywater is waste that does not contain fecal matter.

                                                             Tours & Education

The Ocean County Utilities Authority (OCUA) has an active public education program which include tours, public speakers and reference materials. These tours are perfect for Environmental Educators, Teachers, Ecologists, Scout Leaders, or anyone interested in water resources and wastewater reclamation. OCUA encourages tours of our wastewater treatment facilities located in Brick, Bayville and West Creek.  We have speakers that will come to your school with slides and/or videos about wastewater reclamation and the hydrologic cycle.  We encourage all who are teachers or youth leaders to educate our children about the importance of clean water.  OCUA treats and recycles the wastewater generated by the citizens and industries of Ocean and Southwestern Monmouth County. The solids removed during the treatment process are stabilized and pelletized for use as an organic fertilizer that is called OCEANGRO.  If you would like to schedule a tour of our facilities or discuss having one of our speakers come to your school or group please contact us
